Cornerstone collects clothing items for the Salvation Army, and
patients of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center's psychiatric ward.
Cornerstone Youth serve the "brown bag of love" on the last Sunday of

lunches to many homeless people.

About Purchasing and Reimbursement
What items that I purchase for the church can I be reimbursed for?
You can be reimbursed for most purchases you make for the church,
assuming that funds have been budgeted for that purchase. If the funds
have not been budgeted you will not be reimbursed.
In all cases you will need to receive prior approval from the chair
of the committee,
or the Chairman of the
Finance Committee, and/or the
Church Council.
Many people choose to buy something for
the church in place of a portion of their tithing. If you choose
to do this you will need to give the Treasurer your receipt and
documentation, making sure you write your name on the receipt and
documentation and mark it "donation in kind".
How do I get reimbursed for purchases?
In general, you can be reimbursed for
purchases made on behalf of Cornerstone United Methodist Church provided
the purchase has been approved in advance. Approval should be sought
from the church staff or Committee Chairperson who is responsible for
the appropriate funds. (Under Review by Finance Chairperson: Any
purchases in excess of $100 require prior completion and approval of a
purchase order form. The forms can be found in the church office or
provided by a the various committee chairs.)
If you have any questions regarding these
procedures please contact the Committee Chairperson, Treasurer or
Chairman of the Finance Committee.
When do I need approval prior to making
a purchase for the church?
All items must be cleared by the chair of
the committee you serve on, and if they are not available, then by the
Chairman of the
Finance Committee and/or the
Church Council prior to purchase. Contact the
Pastor, Treasurer, or
Finance Committee for the appropriate form and procedure.
