The Rev. Kong S. NamKung
Born in Seoul Korea, came to the Untied States of America in 1985. graduated from Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC in 1991, and from Duke Seminary in 1994. was ordained as a deacon in 1994 and ordained as an elder in 1996, complete D. Min (2006) Columbia Theological seminary. The title of the thesis, “Biblical Understanding of globalization and Cross- Racial Appointment in the Untied Methodist Church in the model of Joseph and Esther”
Experience: Pastor at multi racial ethnic churches- Sandy Plains UMC (Native American), Wesley
Memorial UMC (Anglo), Johnson Memorial UMC (Multi-racial) Harry Hosier UMC
(Afro-American, Internship)
Mission trips: Haiti, China, Israel, Mexico and the USA.
Ministry involved in:
District Level- District Connectional Of Ministry (DCOM), District Superintendent Superintendency,
Leadership training Circle
Conference level- Chair of Episcopal Circle, chair-children ministry, spiritual formation circle, connectional
table, Episcopacy, Residency in Ordained Minister (RIOM), Duke Student Pastors’ mentor
Southeastern Jurisdiction level- SEJ Minster’s Conference design team.
Established Rev. Kong NamKung’s Scholarship for helping poor children.

administrator, coordinator, organizer, and implementer.
