CCEC Pre-School & After-School
Welcome to Cornerstone Christian Education Center (CCEC). Our mission is to provide a safe environment that encourages children to develop spiritual, personal, social, and emotional skills.
We believe early childhood should be a time of fun, security, discovery and warmth and we strive to help children become confident and eager to learn.
CCEC is a ministry of Cornerstone United Methodist church. It will ensure that all curriculum and activities are in accordance with the United Methodist Doctrine and the highest ideals of Christianity. In using he Cornerstone facilities, the staff will ensure that all employees are not only qualified to handle the curriculum but also have personality traits of maturity, warmth, tenderness, a cooperative attitude and endeavor to exhibit Christ’s character.
We welcome children of ANY religion, race, or national origin. Our Tot-Time, and pre-school programs are open to walking 1 year olds to children 5 years of age. Our Corner Club (after-school program) is available to children enrolled in Kindergarten through Grade Five. For the health of our staff and children, we regrettably cannot accept children who are not current with their immunizations.
Open to children who are 1 year old AND walking through 3 yrs of age.
Open to children who are at least 2 yrs old AND potty trained through 4 yrs of age.
Wee-School / Pre-School Programs
Both Wee-school and Pre-school are seasonal programs that follow Cumberland County’s traditional school year calendar.
Open to children ages 3-4 (by August 31 of current year). Children enrolled in Wee-School must be potty trained.
Open to children ages 4-5 (by August 31 of current year). Children enrolled in Pre-School must be potty trained.
CORNER CLUB (After-school) Program
Open until 6:00 PM
Open to children enrolled in Kindergarten through Grade 5.
Early childhood should be a time of fun, security, discovery & warmth.
1. Always put the interest of the child first.
2. Foster Christian principles in every activity.
3. Encourage creativity in the children and staff.
4. Support effective communication among parents, children and staff.
5. Promote continuing education for staff members.
Monday thru Friday from 8:30AM-12:00PM.
If the Cumberland County Public School System is closed or has a 2 hour delay, Pre-School will be closed.
Communication between parents and teachers is vital to the interest of your child. The teachers are responsible for informing you of your child’s behavior, health, safety and developmental progress. Please share special circumstances or changes with your child to their teacher.
CCEC does not use corporal punishment, humiliating or frightening techniques nor will we withhold food or beverage as a discipline device. Pre-School staff will only use a positive approach to discipline based on the Christian principle, ”...in everything, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” (Matthew 7:12)
Our staff is comprised of qualified, loving persons, dedicated to caring for your child. They are also certified in CPR and First Aid.
